North Aurora police arrest suspect after gunshot incident; no injuries reported

On May 21, 2025, at approximately 5:00 a.m., the North Aurora Police Department responded to reports of gunshots at a business located in the 100 block of Grant Street. The initial report indicated that multiple gunshots were heard, but no injuries were reported. The suspect was described as a black male dressed in all black, seen fleeing towards a vehicle.

While heading to the location, officers from the North Aurora Police Department identified the suspect's vehicle nearby. Attempts to stop the vehicle resulted in a pursuit involving multiple agencies. The chase extended through North Aurora onto I-88 towards Naperville and then circled back into Aurora. The pursuit concluded with the suspect being apprehended near Barnes and Jericho Roads in Aurora.

The incident is believed to be a targeted attack on an employee of the business. Fortunately, no injuries occurred during this event, and the suspect is currently held at the North Aurora Police Department.
