The Village of Montgomery is set to offer a historic walking tour of its downtown area on Saturday, June 7, 2025. The event, hosted by the Historic Preservation Commission, aims to engage history enthusiasts and local residents with the stories and landmarks that have shaped the community.
Participants will explore notable sites such as Gray’s Mill, the former pop factory, Lyon Metal, Michaels Grocery Store, Montgomery Methodist Church, and South Shore Inn. The tour will cover an approximate half-mile loop around River, Mill, Main, and Webster Streets.
No prior registration is required for this free event. Attendees are encouraged to meet outside Montgomery Village Hall at 200 N. River Street shortly before the tour begins at 10 a.m. The walk is expected to last about one hour.
In addition to the walking tour, Settler’s Cottage will be open from 10 a.m. until noon for visitors interested in viewing items curated by the Historic Preservation Commission.
