The Village of North Aurora, in collaboration with Kane County Recycles, is organizing an Electronic Recycling Event. The event will take place on Saturday, June 7, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Residents can recycle electronics, clothing and shoes, home textiles such as bedding and pillowcases, and books at no cost. However, televisions and monitors are subject to recycling fees.

Televisions or monitors with screens under 21 inches will incur a $25 fee per item. For screens measuring 21 inches or more diagonally, the fee is $35 per item. These fees do not apply to items with built-in screens like laptops, tablets, smartphones, and e-readers.

Items for recycling should be dropped off at the North Aurora Police Department parking lot. Participants are advised to follow all posted signs for drop-off procedures.

Pre-payment for television and monitor recycling can be made online at https://recycling.eworksesi.org/, or payments can be made on-site using credit cards or cash.

A complete list of accepted and non-accepted items is available at: https://northaurora.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/KCR-Pop-up-Standard-Items.pdf
