The Village of Montgomery is once again holding its Volunteer of the Year Awards Program in 2025. This initiative aims to acknowledge and celebrate the significant contributions made by local volunteers to the community. The program seeks nominations for individuals, organizations, and businesses that have shown exceptional commitment to volunteering.
Community members are encouraged to nominate people or groups who have displayed outstanding dedication, leadership, and impact through their volunteer efforts. Nominees can be involved in a variety of activities, such as local events, beautification projects, youth programs, and senior services.
In 2024, the Village honored four recipients for their contributions: Special Stars, Inc., Patti Bulat, Stacy Krutilla, and Steve & Margie Griest. The awardees will be recognized at the Village Board meeting on Monday, June 23 at Village Hall.
Rosie Boeing, Community Engagement & Event Coordinator for the Village of Montgomery said: "We encourage all members of our community to take this opportunity to nominate deserving individuals or organizations who exemplify the spirit of volunteerism and make a meaningful difference in the lives of others."
Nominations can be submitted online through montgomeryil.org until May 15. For more details about the awards or volunteering opportunities, visit the website or contact Rosie Boeing at 331-212-9008 or rboeing@montgomeryil.org.
