The St. Charles Fire Department quickly responded to a reported structure fire in a single-family home on the 400 block of South 13th Avenue at around 6:41 pm on Sunday, March 30, 2025. First responders reached the scene within three minutes of the dispatch, finding an external fire that had spread to the structure.

A passerby alerted the homeowner, who was inside the residence at the time. The resident successfully evacuated and was unharmed. Fire crews extinguished the blaze shortly after their arrival, followed by a thorough inspection for any remaining fire threats and conducting salvage and overhaul operations.

The total damage to the property and its contents is estimated at $45,000. No injuries to civilians or firefighters were reported. Assistance was provided by the St. Charles Police Department and the Geneva Fire Department. The fire was ruled as unintentional.
