On March 17, 2025, Central Community Unit School District 301 posted about an engaging classroom activity for St. Patrick’s Day. In Ms. Buetow’s first-grade class at Howard B. Thomas Grade School, students participated in a creative exercise where they attempted to catch a leprechaun using traps they built in pairs. Despite their efforts, "that sneaky leprechaun still managed to escape, leaving behind quite the mess!" #WeAreCentral was used to emphasize the spirit of the school community.
