Senator Donald P. Dewitte | Illinois State Senator
With the new year underway in Illinois, State Senator Don DeWitte (R-St. Charles) has announced the launch of his fifth annual "Valentines for Seniors" card drive. This initiative aims to bring joy to seniors and affirm their importance within the community. Senator DeWitte is inviting students from various schools, church groups, scouting organizations, and other groups to create homemade cards and drawings. These will be distributed to assisted living centers, nursing homes, and long-term care facilities throughout the 33rd Senate District during Valentine's Day week.
"This is my fifth Valentines for Seniors card drive and each year the program grows bigger and bigger," said DeWitte. "Last year we dropped off thousands of well-wishes at over 20 different locations in Kane and McHenry Counties. The smiles on the seniors’ faces were priceless and the cards really made them feel appreciated."
Participants can drop off or mail their cards and drawings until February 7 at Senator DeWitte's offices in West Dundee and St. Charles from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Outside boxes are available for submissions during evenings and weekends.
