City of Batavia Historic Preservation Commission met March 11

1. MEETING CALLED TO ORDER

Chair Alderson called the Historic Preservation Commission meeting to order at 5:00PM.

2. ROLL CALL

Members Present: Chair Alderson, Co-Chair Bus; Commissioners Connelly, Koc and Saam

Members Absent: None

Also Present: Mayor Schielke, Jeff Albertson, Building Commissioner; Peter Gerardi, Recording Secretary

3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: February 26, 2024

MOTION: To recommend approval of the minutes from February 26, 2024

MAKER: Connelly

SECOND: Saam

VOICE VOTE: Motion carried.

4. ITEMS REMOVED/ADDED/CHANGED

None.

5. MATTERS FROM THE PUBLIC (NOT ON THE AGENDA)

None.

6. COA REVIEW: 151 North Island Avenue - Roof Replacement (Williams Architects, Applicant)

Josh Wyant, from the Batavia Park District (the owner of the building), made a brief presentation about the proposal. Jeff Albertson noted that this is a contributing building. Wyant indicated that the existing cedar shingles have outlived their useful life, and the replacement needs to be done at this time. Wyant also added that the shingles will be the same charcoal color as the depot building and the new Park District building across from it. 

MOTION: To recommend approval of the COA as submitted.

NAY: None

5-0 Vote; motion carried.

9. ADJOURNMENT There being no other business to discuss, Chair Alderson asked for a motion to adjourn. There was a motion, a second and a Voice Vote; all were in favor. The motion was carried, and the meeting was adjourned at 5:12PM.
