City of Batavia City Council met Oct. 2.

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

1. MEETING CALLED TO ORDER 

The Mayor called the meeting to order at 7:01 pm. 

2. INVOCATION followed by PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE 

Ald. Beck led the Pledge of Allegiance. 

3. ROLL CALL 

Aldermen in attendance at roll: Miller (7), Lanci (6), Beck (5), Pieper (4), Chanzit (3), Wolff (2), Solfa (1), Bearren (1), Leman (2), Ajazi (3), Malay (4), Uher (5), Cerone (6), Vogelsinger (7). 

Ald. Chanzit, Ald. Cerone, and Ald. Vogelsinger attended the meeting remotely. 4. REMINDER: Please Speak Into The Microphone For BATV Recording 5. ITEMS REMOVED/ADDED/CHANGED

Ald. Chanzit read aloud the Consent Agenda. 

Motion by Ald. Chanzit, seconded by Ald. Solfa, to approve the consent agenda. Motion carried 13 yea/ 0 nay/ 1 absent.

8. CHAMBER OF COMMERCE 

President Perreault delivered her report on the recent and upcoming activities of the Batavia Chamber of Commerce. For details please visit the Chamber of Commerce website https://www.bataviachamber.org/. Please view the recording for comments in full. 

Perreault introduced her guest LaVon Lenaway from Dragonfly Senior Navigation Services. Lenaway spoke about the services she provides to those in the Batavia area who need support in navigating an Alzheimer’s diagnosis for themselves or their family. 

9. ADMINISTRATOR'S REPORT 

Administrator Newman delivered her report. She recapped the Strategic Planning meetings conducted in the previous week. She also reported on the recent fundraising efforts of the Batavia Police Department for the Special Olympics. Please review recordings for comments in full. 

10. OTHER BUSINESS

11. MAYOR’S REPORT 

Mayor Schielke delivered his report. He spoke about recent conversations with other area Mayors about the good reputation of Batavia. He also spoke about the history of the East and West Cemeteries, which are presently owned and operated by the City. Please view the recording for comments in full. 

12. ADJOURNMENT 

Motion by Ald. Wolf , seconded by Ald. Malay, to adjourn. Motion carried by voice vote. The meeting adjourned at 7:31 pm.
