City of Geneva Board Fire and Police Commission met Aug. 29.

Here are the minutes provided by the commission:

1. Call to Order

Chair McMahon called the meeting to order at 7:15 p.m.

PRESENT: Chair Jennifer McMahon, and Commissioner Todd Augustine.

ALSO PRESENT: Fire Chief Michael Antenore,

ABSENT: Commissioner Ernie Belmonte

5. New Business

a. Lieutenant Eligibility Roster - Final Schedule Approval

Chief Antenore said that the Battalion Chief preliminary list will be posted. He said that the written exam will be held on August 31, 2023. He said that the candidates will then have ten days to apply for preference points and then the list will be finalized. He said it takes 70% to pass.

He continued and said that the schedule for the Lieutenant promotional process began with distribution of the reading list on July 25, 2023. He said that the assessment will be scheduled sometime in October once he can get dates from all the candidates. He said there there will likely be 6 or 7 candidates. Based on the schedule he recommended interviews in November. Potential dates will be the evening of November 14 and November 15, 2023. He said that the written test can then be scheduled in December.

Commissioner Augustine moved to adjourn the meeting at 7:30 p.m., seconded by Chair McMahon and unanimously approved by all present.
