2. Fox River Trail Widening: Jen invited Jennifer Rooks-Lopez from the Kane County Forest Preserve to discuss idea of widening trail from Historical Museum to Fabyan on the west side, due to heavier foot and cycling traffic. To stripe, need 12 feet to allow separation of sides. Standard width is 10-12 feet for multi use, and depends on speed limit posted. 8 feet of space allowed on bridges. ITEP does have funding and could look into that. Jennifer will look into resurfacing schedule and rules for how wide trail could be, with homes on 1 side and river on other. Jen also spoke with Josh Wyant at the BPD and Josh will share this idea with Allison Niemela. A preliminary look at the property map of the trail shows space where the trail could be widened.

3. Bike repair stations: Joanne and Steve reported that the stations are at the city warehouse, and the BPD, BPS, B Apartments and Kane County Forest Preserve are all contacted to pick them up and install them! We will follow up to get photos with the city, and 4 groups. Working on final location for Station at RMS; will need to be near bike racks, and working on signage on trail to direct cyclists up the short path towards RMS and the repair station.

4. By-Laws: We can have 7 members, but want to consider increasing it to 9-11. And allowing commissioners to stay on for consecutive terms, and possibly removing wording that we need a Planning Commissioner on our board. Jen will talk to Laura about what the city would consider in changing the by laws.

5. Sharrows: Need to talk to city as BBC believes sharrows are not the safest plan. BBC prefers signage versus sharrows, and will research wording we recommend. Ideal: Protected bike lanes, then signs that bikes may use full lane, then sign and sharrow, and last- sharrows only. Kane County is not proposing sharrows in their plan. We want to use the IL standard wording and will add to May agenda.

6. BPD ride and other rides: Ride postponed for this year. Good to put together a volunteer list so we can organize rides and other projects.

7. Bike and Roll to School Day: Officer Jamie said HCS is on May 3, GMW on May 5. She will arrange for police and fire – if they are free - to visit schools that want them to visit. Officer Jamie will be at GMW. Jenn taking care of HCS. Joanne will request signs from Mark Anderson to be delivered to schools.

8. Other items: Steve shared that the Delnor bike rodeo was poorly attended last year so we will not suggest doing it again. May 13: Kaci will be at the Indoor Farmer’s Market. Bike Share program opens next week for Aurora, Oswego and Montgomery. Batavia has not signed up.
