Q2 2022 Recap: 10 parolees from Kane County convicted of crimes against persons set for release

There were 10 offenders convicted of crimes against persons living in Kane County released on parole during the second quarter of 2022, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the Kane County Reporter.

The data shows all of the released offenders among the parolees were men. Of the parolees sentenced for crimes against persons, one was a veteran, and the median age was 42. The youngest parolee was a 26-year-old man sentenced in 2021, and the oldest was a 66-year-old man sentenced in 2020.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Eric Ericson. He was convicted in 2020 when he was 63 years old. He is now 66.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
