8. PROCLAMATION: World Polio Day October 24, 2022
Ald. Chanzit read a proclamation declaring October 24th World Polio Day.
Motion by Ald. Chanzit, seconded by Ald. Wolf , to approve the proclamation. Motion carried 14 yea/ 0 nay/ 0 absent.
George Scheetz, Director of the Batavia Public Library and Rotary Club member accepted the proclamation and thanked the Council for their support.
9. PROCLAMATION: Heroic Actions Of Batavia Citizens
After Nicholas Frank entered anaphylactic shock while working in his yard, his young son, Nico, talked to the 911 dispatcher, then ran to his neighbor’s house for help. After overcoming an initial language barrier, his neighbor, Yari Cordova rendered aid by locating and administering Mr. Frank’s Epipen. The quick action of the two young people helped to stabilize Mr. Young until Batavia paramedics arrived on the scene.
10. APPROVAL: Appoint Alderman Tom Connolly To Replace Alderman Mike Russotto On The Tri-Com Central Dispatch Board

11. CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
City Administrator Laura Newman reminded the Council that recent and upcoming events of Batavia Chamber of Commerce can be found on their website.
12. RESOLUTION 22-100-R: Facade Improvement Grant - 106 W. Wilson Street, BEI (AI 9/27/22 COW 9/27/22 13/0) CD
Motion by Ald. Wolf , seconded by Ald. Malay, to approve the resolution. Wendy Reed, Property Manager for BEI, advised the Council on the scope of the project.

13. APPROVAL: Waive Formal Bidding For Services To Install HDPE Conduit In The Area Of Pine Street And Woodland Hills Drive (GH)
Motion by Ald. Miller, seconded by Ald. Solfa, to waive formal bidding. Motion carried 14 yea/ 0 nay/ 0 absent.
14. RESOLUTION 22-102-R: Approving An Emergency Contract With Ray’s Electrical & Boring Services To Install HDPE Conduit In The Area Of Pine Street And Woodland Hills Drive For An Amount Not-To-Exceed $129,984.00 Which Includes 10 Percent Contingency (GH 2/22/22 COW 9/27/22 13/0) PU

15. CITY ADMINISTRATOR'S REPORT
City Administrator Laura Newman delivered her report. Review recording for comments in full.

Ald. Uher requested that the Council take up the issue of video gaming in a near future committee meeting.
Ald. Wolff let the Council know that the Batavia High School football team is playing the Geneva High School football team on October 7th.
17. MAYOR’S REPORT
Mayor Schielke delivered his report. The Mayor expressed thanks to Director George Sheetz for his years of dedicated service to the Batavia community. Director Sheetz will be retiring in 2023. Review recording for comments in full.
