IV. New or Unfinished Business
A. Presentation and Approval of Support and Participation in the Fabulous Fox! Water Trail Exec. Dir. Meyers introduced Karen Miller, Executive Planner for the Kane County Development Department and the Fabulous Fox Initiative representative. Ms. Miller explained that land owners along the river need to give permissions to allow inclusion for access to the forest preserves. The 2019 brochure that was distributed to different areas in the Milwaukee and Chicago region, has been updated and will be redistributed in 2022. The new addition will include sites along the river of the map, the sites will have signage along the river and QR codes with information leading to the website. Miller noted the submittal to be recognized in the National Park Service has been a long process, this will benefit the Kane County residents for years to come.
DISCUSSION: Brief conversation occurred, Ms. Miller stated that having the recognition of a national program provides all the access and opens the potential for future grants from the park service.
