Batavia Public School District began taking registrations for the 2023-34 Early Childhood Preschool Lottery today.
Families with children who will be turning three and four years old by Sept. 1, 2023, and who currently reside in the boundaries of Batavia Public School District 101 are eligible to participate in a lottery system for open spots at the BPS101 Preschool at the Early Childhood Center in the 2023-24 school year. The lottery-based system replaces the fee-based system, thus eliminating the monthly fee for community students. Families are, however, responsible for the District’s standard registration fee.
To register for the 2023-24 lottery, parents must complete a letter of intent and return it to the BPS101 Preschool at the Early Childhood Center (located in Alice Gustafson Elementary School) by 4:00 p.m. on January 27, 2023. Details can be found here: ec.bps101.net/preschool-program/.
The BPS101 Preschool is a language-rich, purposefully designed learning environment based on exploration and discovery. The academic and social-emotional curriculum is aligned with the District’s K-5 curriculum and Illinois Early Learning and Development Standards. BPS101 Preschool teachers hold general and special education certificates and have earned an ESL Endorsement. Students must be toilet-trained by the first day of class.
Parents/guardians are encouraged to attend the BPS101 Preschool Open House on Wed., Jan. 18, 2023, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Early Childhood Center located within Alice Gustafson Elementary School at 905 Carlisle Rd., Batavia.
We are excited to welcome our new students and hope to see you at an upcoming session.
