Report: School District U-46 School District spent $13,446 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at School District U-46 was up 17.9 percent from five years ago, according to the Kane County Reporter analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Kane County school district spent $11,404 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $13,446 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 39,963 to 37,241 students over the same period.

School District U-46's spending in 2019-20 was 7.2 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
