Weather permitting, on Thursday, October 7, the Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR) will be closing Big Timber Road at the railroad crossing about 900 feet west of Tyrrell Road in the Village of Gilberts. The posted detour route will use Big Timber Road, Tyrrell Road and IL Route 72 to divert traffic around the construction area (see map below). Motorists should be prepared to reduce their speed, exercise caution and to obey all traffic control devices.
Monday, October 11, 7:00 a.m. through Friday, October 15 at 5:00 p.m., Metra will make repairs to the track crossing on National Street.
