SPECIAL EVENTS

FREE Movie Night in the Park – Little Giants


Friday, September 17 at dusk (Approximately 7pm)

Bring the Family out for a movie night.  We will be showing Little Giants – an oldie but a great one!  Bring your chairs and blankets and enjoy the weather.  Prepackaged concessions will be available to purchase.  You are welcome to bring your own snacks and drinks.

Pumpkin Patch & Fall Festival

Saturday, October 2

9am-2pm

Come out for great family fun.  Get your pumpkins for Halloween…grown in South Elgin and hand-picked!  There will also be a Pyramid of Hay, Petting Zoo, Carving and painting station, Scholastic Book Fair to support Preschool, Pet Costume Parade at 11am, concessions and more.

YOUTH COMPUTER CLASSES

Reading with Robots - 4-6 years old 

Its story time with a twist!  Once upon a time..."Pete the Cat" meets our robot Bee Bot, "Give a Mouse a Cookie" with Colby the robot and many more adventures.  In this fun Hands-on class, children will learn to program and code a robot to create their own exciting adventure.  This class will be held Monday, October 11 from 9-10:15am at the Public Services Building, 1000 Bowes Road.  The cost is $18 for residents and $20 for non-residents.  Section #33835

Minecraft Madness – 7-12 years old

Explore the world of Minecraft, one of the most popular video games in history, offers an amazing world of endless possibilities. Let your imagination transform your Minecraft experience into a unique world YOU create!  Students will discover how to expand their worlds' possibilities using popular game-enhancing mods. Build traps, arrow launchers, faster rail systems and more & participate in building challenges! Learn fundamentals of computer networking through this unique Minecraft experience that also allows you and your friends to work in multiplayer mode as you mine, craft and build together to survive.  This class will be held Monday, October 11 from 10:45am-12:15pm at the Public Services Building, 1000 Bowes Road.  The cost is $23 for residents and $25 for non-residents.  Section #33836
