City of Elgin issued the following announcement on May 1.
The City of Elgin is partnering with the The Salvation Army Elgin Corps and Community Center to offer temporary water bill assistance to qualified residents who have been negatively affected by COVID-19. The Temporary Water Bill Assistance Program will offer a one-time grant of up to $400 to eligible residents to pay toward any previous or current City bill for refuse, sewer and water. The application period opens today and applications will be reviewed on a first-come first-served basis.
