City of Batavia issued the following announcement on Jan. 21.
As positivity rates continue to decline in different regions of Illinois it's important to stay up-to-date on what the mitigations are for each tier and where Region 8 (Kane and Dupage County) stands today. Region 8 is currently in Tier 2 mitigations. In order to move to Tier 1 mitigations, a region must meet the following metrics:
1) Test positivity below 8% for three consecutive days. (7-day average)
2) Greater than 20% capacity for staff hospital beds (ICU) (3-day average)
3) No sustained increase in COVID patients in hospitals (7-day average over 7 of 10 days)
According to the Kane County Health Department as of today (01/21/2021):
1) Our 7 day rolling average is 8.2% and has been gradually decreasing.
2) Our bed availability has been over 20% for more than 31 days
3) Our patient count has decreased 22 of the last 30 days, though we did have 4 days with slight increases over the past week.
