Montgomery-Countryside FPD responds to 31 fires in 2018

Montgomery-Countryside Fire Protection District responded to 149 calls in 2018 - 21.1 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Montgomery-Countryside included 31 fires - 18 structure fires, two vehicle fires and 11 other fires. The fire department also responded to two calls for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $11,150 in fire loss - or about $360 per fire.

The department also received 116 false calls, including five malicious calls and 111 other false calls.

The calls resulted in one civilian fire-related injury.

The Montgomery-Countryside Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $1,404,491 in 2018.
