Illinois State Senate District 25 issued the following announcement on July 29.
Senator Jim Oberweis is co-sponsoring a resolution urging the U.S. Congress to return ComEd’s $200 million fine to their ratepayers in Illinois either through direct payments or by directing the funds to the Illinois Commerce Commission for distribution to ratepayers.
As residents have come to learn, ComEd is paying a $200 million criminal fine as part of a federal investigation into a years-long bribery scheme in the State involving jobs, contracts, and payments.
