City of Elgin Heritage Commission 2020 – Historic Rehabilitation Grant Review Subcommittee met June 23.

1. 409 Douglas Avenue – Scope of work includes: Repair and replace damaged or missing clapboard, shingles, trim elements with new clear cedar; caulking and filling holes; remove and reinstall storms, reglaze original wood windows; clean north back exterior stairs; scrape and paint in same colors.
2. 502 Grace Street – Scope of work includes: Removal of substitute siding; restore original siding; recreate missing architectural features; scrape, prep, prime and paint in three color paint scheme; restore wood windows; install half-round painted metal gutters.
3. 170 Lincoln Avenue – DRSC 3/10/2020 - Scope of work includes: Removal of concrete stairs and metal handrail at front stoop; construction of new wood stairs and handrails
4. 333-335 Raymond Street – Scope of work includes: Rehabilitation of front porch; window hood repair and replacement where missing; replace basement entrance with new storm-cellar door; miscellaneous repairs; scrape and paint loose exterior paint.
5. 338 Raymond Street – Scope of work includes: Replacement of vinyl windows with aluminum-clad wood insert windows.
6. 360 Richert Court – DRSC 12/10/2019 - Scope of work includes: Removal of concrete stairs and metal handrail at front stoop; construction of new wood stairs and handrails
E. 75/25 Application Review and Grant Recommendation (2 submissions for review)
1. 125 Hindsdell Place – Scope of work includes: Rehabilitation of three porches and rear egress stairs; repair all wood entry doors; repair wood windows.
2. 320 N. Spring Street – Scope of work includes: Restoration of front porch balustrade and column bases; replace deteriorated and non-original crown molding; installation of new aluminum-clad wood rear 2nd floor window; miscellaneous repairs; new wood arched storm windows (existing storms are not original except bay window); new wood insert panels for existing storm windows; two new aluminum storm windows (no storms existing at those locations).
