A temporary restraining order has been issued against the U46 School Board in Elgin on behalf of board member Jeanette Ward.

Ward filed a Temporary Restraining Order and Emergency Temporary Restraining Order and a lawsuit against the school board in the Kane County Circuit Court. In her lawsuit, Ward sought to gain access to closed-session recordings from her past term in office.

Kane County Circuit Court ruled in favor of Ward and issued a Temporary Restraining Order against the school board.

Ward had been trying to gain access to the recording for several months, according to Illinois Leaks, but the District had been planning a vote to authorize destroying the closed-session recordings from over 18 months ago.
