City of Elgin issued the following announcement on Feb. 24.
The City of Elgin will hold an Open House Public Information Meeting concerning the proposed improvement of Dundee Avenue from Enterprise Street to Page Avenue, including the reconstruction existing pavement, curb and gutter installation, new storm sewer, sanitary sewer upgrades, new water main, and new sidewalk construction. The Open House Public Hearing will be held in the Gymnasium at Larsen Middle School, 665 Dundee Avenue, Elgin, Illinois on March 10 from 4:30 P.M. until 7:30 P.M. All persons interested in this project are invited to attend this meeting. The meeting room is accessible to persons with a disability. If special accommodations are required, please contact the person listed below by March 3, 2020.
The meeting will be conducted on an informal basis. Exhibits describing the status of the project, the proposals under consideration, and the decisions to be made will be shown throughout the meeting. Representatives of the City of Elgin will be available from 4:30 P.M. until 7:30 P.M. to discuss the project. Representatives will answer individual questions and record comments offered by those in attendance. Verbatim comments will not be recorded.
The presentation will address topics such as the need for the project, the design alternatives under consideration, right-of-way acquisition, and the tentative construction schedule. Preliminary reports, including environmental documents and an engineering analysis with drawings, maps and aerial photography, will be available for inspection and viewing during the entire time.
