Illinois House candidate in the 49th District Laura Curtis (R-North Aurora) is tired of hearing the same old story out of the state capital, as was the case last Wednesday during Gov. J.B. Pritzker's State of the State address in Springfield.

“As a mother of two and a small business owner, I know firsthand what the policies from Springfield mean for families, businesses and Illinois’ economy," Curtis said. "Unfortunately, today we heard more of the same tone-deaf rhetoric out of Springfield: Increase taxes and spend money we don’t have.”

Among the most pressing issues Curtis says she would address if voters send her to Springfield in November are doing away with the cloud of corruption over state government and fighting for real property tax reform.

Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker

“The people of our community want bipartisan leaders who will serve as their representative voice, not another politician in lockstep with [Illinois House] Speaker [Mike] Madigan (D-Chicago). As representative, I will work tirelessly to deliver real value from lowering property taxes, to reforming the way Illinois does business, to helping Illinois grow and thrive.”
