CITY OF AURORA: Area Under Wind Chill Advisory

City of Aurora issued the following announcement on Jan. 19.

The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Chill Advisory for the area until 10 a.m. on Sunday, January 19.

Dangerously cold temperatures will bring wind chills as low as 20 below zero and wind gusts of up to 45 mph. These frigid temperatures can cause frostbite on exposed skin in under 30 minutes.

Please remember:

• Frostbite and hypothermia can occur quickly if precautions are not taken.

• Limit your time outside.

• Wear hats and gloves - and bundle up if you must go outside.

• Keep pets inside and make quick trips outside when necessary.

• Check on others, especially elderly and disabled relatives, friends and neighbors
