City of Elgin issued the following announcement on Nov. 10.
The on street leaf collection program is suspended until further notice. Given the amount of snow and cold temperatures forecasted the remainder of the week, all trucks are being switched over from leaf collection use to snow operations use. This switch will ensure the best treatment possible for Elgin roadways. The on street leaf collection program will resume Monday, November 18 at the latest, with all attempts to resume the program later this week.
