City of Elgin issued the following announcement on Aug. 23.
Walnut Avenue will be closed at the Gertrude Street intersection for utility and pavement work beginning Thursday, August 22 and lasting for 3 weeks. Follow posted detours routing around the closure or use alternate routes during this time
