A. Fourth of July Parade Recap and Awards

Special Events Coordinator Kate O’Leary is recapping the Fourth of July parade and presenting various awards.

B. Low Threshold Homeless Shelter Presentation

Community Engagement Specialist Bob Whitt, Assistant City Manager Laura Valdez and representatives from PADS of Elgin are providing information on action occurring regarding the feasibility of establishing a low-threshold homeless shelter in the City.

Initiatives and Other Items

C. Consideration of Fee Ordinance Change for Columbarium Niches at Bluff City Cemetery (No cost)

Objective: Adjust the cost for new columbarium niches and make a two-tiered pricing schedule based on desirability.

D. Consideration of Amendment Agreement No. 1 with WBK Engineering LLC for Construction Engineering Services for the 2019 Residential Resurfacing – Clifford-Owasco/Wing Park Neighborhood Street Program ($165,608)

Objective: Provide field inspection, design interpretation, contract administration and general coordination and control of the day to day construction activities for the resurfacing of various residential streets for the 2019 Residential Resurfacing – Clifford-Owasco/Wing Park Neighborhood Street Program.

E. Consideration of Installation of Waterproof Membrane over Vaulted Sidewalk at 101 E. Chicago Street ($197,100)

Objective: Install waterproof membrane over the sidewalk vault that is no longer functioning as designed in order to prevent leaks into the finished basement of the building.

F. Consideration of Policy Concerning Honorary Street Names (No cost)

Objective: Update a policy to recognize residents who made significant contributions to the City.
