Illinois state Sen. Don DeWitte (R-St. Charles) made sure he was recently among those on hand at Minerallac Traditional in Kane County to celebrate the 125th anniversary of the family-owned electrical supply business.
“It was such an honor,” DeWitte later posted on Facebook of the event, which doubled as a ribbon-cutting for the company’s new solar array, a sustainable energy investment.
The newly elected DeWitte edged out Democrat Nancy Nettler last November with just under 51 percent of the vote.
Senate District 33 includes parts of Huntley, Lake in the Hills, Algonquin, Elgin, South Elgin, St. Charles, Geneva and Batavia.
