The data shows that all of the released offenders in South Elgin were men. The median age of the parolees was 41. The youngest parolee was a 23-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving one or more weapons in 2014, and the oldest was a 63-year-old man sentenced for a financial crime or fraud in 2017.
The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Tracy A. Bowling. He was convicted of a crime against a person in 2012 when he was 22 years old. He is now 29.
Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
