Former state university employee Dominguez paid in $11K to pension fund, could collect $222K in retirement

Former state university employee Eucevia Dominguez, who retired in February 2016, saved $10,697 toward a pension over 11 years working for state universities, State Universities Retirement System of Illinois records show.

Over 30 years of retirement, Dominguez would collect as much as $222,270, according to a projection by Local Government Information Services (LGIS), which publishes Kane County Reporter.

The projection assumes Dominguez received $4,671 in the first year of retirement, then 3 percent annual increases thereafter, compounded.

After 3 years of retirement, Dominguez will have already received $14,437 in retirement benefits, or more than the sum total of the retiree's contributions to the state pension fund.
