CITY OF GENEVA: Ready, Set, Run: Swedish Days 5K Race Returns

City of Geneva issued the following announcement on May 10.

The Geneva Chamber of Commerce and Geneva Running Outfitters are pleased to announce the return of a 5K run to the Swedish Days Festival supported by Northwestern Medicine.

The Swedish Day 5K Lopp will commence at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, June 22 from Gunnar Forest Preserve in Geneva, located behind the Kane County Government Center, 719 S. Batavia Ave.

Located along the scenic Fox River in Geneva, the Swedish Days 5K Lopp promises an unbelievable race experience. The Chamber encourages race participants to tie-in with the Scandinavian theme with their attire.

Unique Swedish Days awards will be handed out to the top three male and female overall, along with medals in the following age groups: 9 & under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80 and over.

The $35 registration fee includes a t-shirt and pancake breakfast. In order to guarantee a shirt at packet pickup, participants must register by Thursday, June 13. Race day registration is $40.

In addition to the 5K run, there will be a Kids’ Dash for ages 1-8 beginning at 7:15 a.m. June 22.
