Former state Sen. Steve Rauschenberger thinks Rep. Allen Skillicorn (R-East Dundee) would be a godsend for the 14th District if he were to go to Washington.
“A race like this one in the 14th needs a spirited and principled conservative reformer to step into the arena, not the typical status quo Republican,” Rauschenberger, who represented the 22nd Congressional District for 14 years, said in a press release. “Skillicorn has never lost a race and has a solid track record of standing up against special interests and for taxpayers. He is the right fighter for the 14th. I encourage Skillicorn to run.”
Skillicorn is best known for his “Right Now Budget” platform, which, among other things, seeks to balance the budget without new tax hikes, solve the tax pension crisis with 401K-style retirement accounts and tie government spending to the growth of the state economy.
