Report: School District U-46 spent $11,946 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at School District U-46 is up 17.2 percent from five years ago, according to a Kane County Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Kane County school district spent $10,194 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $11,946 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 40332 to 38764.

School District U-46's spending in 2017-18 was 10.4 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
