The new budget proposed by Village of Carpentersville calls for $73,434,257 in expenditures in fiscal year 2019, which is 19 percent more than what this year’s budget provides.
Officials have until Dec. 31 to approve a budget.
The village proposes spending $4,496,164 on police and fire pensions, which is 6.1 percent of the total budget. The pension amount reflects taxpayer contributions to current police and fire employees.
A total of $11,988,754, or 16 percent of total village expenditures, would go to police protection, while fire services represent 10 percent of the 2019 budget, or $7,267,660.
The budget proposal mentioned no tax or fee changes.
