The new budget proposed by City of Aurora calls for $395,514,506 in expenditures in fiscal year 2019, which is 0.04 percent more than what this year’s budget provides.
Officials have until Dec. 31 to approve a budget.
The city proposes spending $32,277,700 on police and fire pensions, which is 8.1 percent of the total budget. The pension amount reflects taxpayer contributions to current police and fire employees.
A total of $71,552,761, or 18 percent of total city expenditures, would go to police protection, while fire services represent 12.4 percent of the 2019 budget, or $49,032,818.
The budget proposal mentioned no tax or fee changes.
