ST. CHARLES CHAMBER OF COMMERCE: Thanksgiving Day Brunch Family-Friendly Feast Filled With Holiday Favorites

St. Charles Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on Nov. 9.

The holiday season begins at Pheasant Run Resort with a bountiful Thanksgiving Day Brunch created by Executive Chef Tiffany Tooker and her culinary team. This year Chef Tooker presents a multi-course feast filled with made-from-scratch breakfast and brunch favorites including made-to-order omelets, Corn Flake crusted French toast, and freshly-baked pastries, plus fresh salads, peel-and-eat shrimp, artisan cheese and breads, and entrees including hand-carved Vermont turkey with corn bread stuffing, a bone-in Virginia ham, and mouthwatering desserts.

"We invite large and small gatherings of family and friends to count their blessings while enjoying a wonderful feast thoughtfully prepared and served by our artists [employees] who help make holiday traditions spectacular memories," says France Langan, general manager of the iconic resort.

The grand buffet menu includes seasonal salads and seafood such as a poached salmon salad display, an antipasto display, Chef's chopped salad, peel-and-eat shrimp, Caprese salad, and artisan cheeses and breads for starters. An impressive carving station features succulent, Vermont Turkey alongside corn bread stuffing topped with traditional sage gravy or fresh cranberry chutney and a bone-in Virginia ham with apricot mustard glaze. Additional entrees include Maple-Glazed Salmon, Beef Medallions with brandy and wild mushroom sauce, Sliced Turkey with bread stuffing with sage dressing.

Selections from the pasta station offer penne or tortellini pasta with classic tomato basil vodka sauce or roasted garlic alfredo sauce and tempting side dishes include sweet potato gratin, green bean casserole, and home-style garlic whipped potatoes. No Thanksgiving is complete without sweets, so the pastry kitchen will offer traditional pumpkin pie, pecan pie, sweet potato pie, and the popular Pheasant Run apple and cherry cobbler skillet station.

Served Thursday, November 22nd from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m., the bountiful brunch costs $42.95 for adults; $16.95 for children ages 5-12; children under 5 eat free. Guests who would like to make a staycation out of their holiday experience can also book a special Bed and Breakfast package.
