Lewis, Lenert among winners in Kane County Board races

The results of the Kane County Board races have been released.

Democrat Anita Marie Lewis has been declared the winner in the County Board District 3 race against Independent Olynda M. De Hoyos. With 100 percent of the precincts reporting, Lewis had 61.37 percent of the vote with a total of 1,263 votes. De Hoyos received 31.97 percent of the vote with a total of 658 votes.

Republican Bill Lenert has been declared the winner in the County Board District 5 race against Democrat Sandra A. King. With 100 percent of the precincts reporting, Lenert had 54.76 percent of the vote with a total of 5,454 votes. King received 42.11 percent of the vote with a total of 4,194 votes.

Republican John P. Martin has been declared the winner in the County Board District 11 race against Democrat Jody M. Kanikula. With 100 percent of the precincts reporting, Martin had 51.91 percent of the vote with a total of 5,522 votes. Kanikula received 44.07 percent of the vote with a total of 4,688 votes.

Republican Steve Weber has been declared the winner in the County Board District 13 race against Democrat Lark Cowart. With 100 percent of the precincts reporting, Weber had 48.73 percent of the vote with a total of 4,649 votes. Cowart received 47.33 percent of the vote with a total of 4,516 votes.

Republican Barbara Wojnicki has been declared the winner in the County Board District 15 race against Democrat Lucas Strom. With 100 percent of the precincts reporting, Wojnicki had 61.65 percent of the vote with a total of 6,953 votes. Strom received 35.87 percent of the vote with a total of 4,045 votes.

Democrat Mohammad Iqbal has been declared the winner in the County Board District 19 race against Republican Kurt Robert Kojzarek. With 100 percent of the precincts reporting, Iqbal had 53.18 percent of the vote with a total of 3,943 votes. Kojzarek received 44.21 percent of the vote with a total of 3,278 votes.

Republican Cliff Surges has been declared the winner in the County Board District 21 race against Democrat Tara Jacobsen. With 100 percent of the precincts reporting, Surges had 48.84 percent of the vote with a total of 4,140 votes. Jacobsen received 47.79 percent of the vote with a total of 4,051 votes.

Democrat Christopher W. Kious has been declared the winner in the County Board District 23 race against Republican Jim Patrician. With 100 percent of the precincts reporting, Kious had 49.52 percent of the vote with a total of 3,178 votes. Patrician received 47.75 percent of the vote with a total of 3,064 votes.
