City of Geneva issued the following announcement on Oct. 18.

The Illinois Department of Natural Resources has lifted the recreational boating restriction on the Fox River in Kane County as of 9 a.m. Oct. 18.
The Fox River at the Algonquin Tailwater gauge is indicating the river is dropping below flood stage.
Original Post - Oct. 8
The Illinois Department of Natural Resources announced Oct. 7 the Fox River in Kane County has been closed for recreational boating until further notice due to high water levels.
With heavy rain taking place recently and more in the forecast, river levels are expected to continue rising until later this week before beginning to drop.
The Geneva Fire Department appreciates everyone's cooperation to adhere to the state warning
