The district transferred five students to another program instead of suspending or expelling them.
According to the report, the district expelled or suspended 845 students during the year. That equates to 6.7 percent of the 12,570 students enrolled.
Students were expelled for one incident with drugs.
Of the 655 in-school suspensions, 497 were given to boys and 158 were given to girls, including 135 elementary or middle schoolers and 520 high schoolers.
The district reported that most in-school suspensions were given for unspecified reasons. The category includes 585 incidents. There were 48 incidents of violence without physical injury. For 592 incidents, students were suspended for a day or less.
Of the 189 out-of-school suspensions, 149 were given to boys and 40 were given to girls, including 81 elementary or middle schoolers and 108 high schoolers.
The district reported that most out-of-school suspensions were given for unspecified reasons. The category includes 113 incidents. There were 33 incidents of violence without physical injury. For 67 incidents, students were suspended for 3-5 days.
