CITY OF ST. CHARLES: Groundbreaking Ceremony for New St. Charles Police Headquarters

City of St. Charles issued the following announcement on July 17.

The City of St. Charles invites the public to attend a groundbreaking ceremony to kick off construction of the new Police Department headquarters. The event will be held on Monday, July 23, 2018 at the site of the new facility, 1515 W. Main Street (formerly the Valley Shopping Center). Opening remarks begin at 6:00 PM, followed by an official groundbreaking and photos at 6:15. Parking is available on site.

Remarks will be delivered by Police Chief James Keegan and Mayor Raymond Rogina. Other attendees will include police department staff and officials; members of the St. Charles City Council; and executives and staff of Riley Construction, construction manager for the project.

The 56,000 square foot, two-story police station headquarters will replace the police station’s current location in downtown St. Charles. The new station will feature:

Wellness center and training room for police employees

Modern layout with private and communal workspaces

Second-floor community room for public use

Squad garage with drive-in bay
