Rutland-Dundee FPD responds to 33 fires in 2017

Rutland-Dundee Fire Protection District responded to 151 calls in 2017 - 28 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Rutland-Dundee included 33 fires - 16 structure fires, four vehicle fires and 13 other fires. The fire department also responded to one call for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $3,600 in fire loss - or about $109 per fire.

The department also received 117 false calls.

The Rutland-Dundee Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $2,416,677 in 2017.
