Montgomery-Countryside FPD responds to 36 fires in 2017

Montgomery-Countryside Fire Protection District responded to 114 calls in 2017 - 23 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Montgomery-Countryside included 36 fires - 16 structure fires, seven vehicle fires and 13 other fires. The fire department also responded to one call for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $340,000 in fire loss - or about $9,444 per fire.

The department also received 77 false calls, including two malicious calls and 75 other false calls.

The calls resulted in one civilian fire-related injury.

The Montgomery-Countryside Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $1,417,852 in 2017.
