Kaneville Fire Protection District responded to 37 calls in 2017 - 54.2 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Kaneville included 19 fires - 12 structure fires, three vehicle fires and four other fires.

In all, the department saw $7,700 in fire loss - or about $405 per fire.

The department also received 18 false calls, including one malicious call and 17 other false calls.

The Kaneville Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $255,204 in 2017.
