Aurora Fire Department responded to 1773 calls in 2017 - 8.4 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Aurora included 258 fires - 120 structure fires, 69 vehicle fires and 69 other fires. The fire department also responded to three calls for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $42,828,954 in fire loss - or about $166,004 per fire.

The department also received 1512 false calls, including 54 malicious calls and 1458 other false calls.

One fire service member was injured in fire-related incidents.
