ALGONQUIN LAKES PARK: Algonquin Old Downtown Engraved Brick Return

Bricks

Algonquin Lakes Park issued the following announcement on June 11.

As we welcome a new era in the downtown Algonquin streetscape history, the Village is offering the return of engraved bricks that were donated to fund the previous downtown project. The original purchaser can claim bricks that were engraved as part of that program, or, parties who can prove relation to the original purchaser, or are honored on a brick as part of the program may also claim bricks.

To claim a brick:

• Submit a request to pattiaagaard@algonquin.org. Request must include:

Purchaser’s name (to the best of your recollection)

Verbiage contained on the brick (to the best of your recollection)

Requestor’s name, email address, and phone number

We will get back to you via email within five (5) business days to let you know if the brick was located in our inventory. If it is located, you will receive instruction on where you may pick it up. Please note that due to the aging, collection, and storage process, we cannot guarantee that a brick provided is available, or in any kind of decent shape; bricks that are located in the inventory will be returned, “As is”. The goal of the program is to attempt to return to individuals the remnant of a well-used product. We may, or may not, be able to accomplish that goal. All requests must be made prior to July 31, 2018, at which point all remaining engraved bricks will be disposed.
