City of Aurora Committee Of The Whole met May 29. 

Here is the minutes as provided by the committee:

                                                                    Call to Order


                           Mayor Pro Tem O'Connor called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m.

                                                                      Roll Call

                   Present 7 - Alderman Kristina "Tina" Bohman, Alderman Carl Franco, Alderman Rick

                                      Mervine, Alderman Edward Bugg, Alderman Judd Lofchie, Alderman

                                      Sherman Jenkins, and Alderman Bob O'Connor

                   Absent 5 - Alderman Juany Garza, Alderman Ted Mesiacos, Alderman Bill Donnell,

                                     Alderman Mike Saville, and Alderman Scheketa Hart-Burns

                                                               Public Comment

                                                                     Agenda

18-0464             Retreat to Review, Reflect and Renew the Mission Statement of the City

                           Council for the 2019 budget.

                          This Information/Discussion Only was (INFORMATION ONLY)

                                                                       Recess

                          The meeting entered into a recess at 11:47 A.M.

                          Mayor Pro Tem O'Connor resumed the meeting at 12:08 P.M.

                                                                 Closed Session

                          Brad Cole, Executive Director of the Illinois Municipal League, was present and

                          provided an explanation of the reason for the closed session and his role to maintain

                          that the meeting complies with the Open Meetings Act exemption.

                          A motion was made by Alderman Mervine, seconded by Alderman Jenkins, to

                         move into Closed Session per Section 2(c) 16 of the Open Meetings Act for the

                         discussion of self evaluation, practices and procedures or professional ethics,

                         when meeting with a representative of a statemwide association of which the

                         public body is a member. The motion carried. The meeting went into closed

                         session at 12:10 p.m.

                          Aye:  7 - Alderman Bohman, Alderman Franco, Alderman Mervine, Alderman Bugg,

                                         Alderman Lofchie, Alderman Jenkins and Alderman O'Connor

                                                                       Reconvene

                        At 1:24 p.m. a motion was made by Alderman Bohman, seconded by Alderman

                        Mervine to reconvene the public portion of the Special Committee of the

                        Whole Meeting. The motion carried by voice vote. Alderman Bugg was not

                        present when the meeting reconvened.

                        Brad Cole stated that the Closed Session was held in compliance of the Open

                        Meeting Act Section 2(c)(16) exemption and that there was no action taken

                        during the Closed Session.

                                                                      Adjournment

                        A motion was made by Alderman Mervine, seconded by Alderman Jenkins, to

                       adjourn this meeting of the Committee of the Whole. The motion carried by

                       voice vote. The meeting adjourned at 1:25 P.M.
