Report: Geneva spent $15,279 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Geneva Community Unit School District 304 is up 14 percent from five years ago, according to a Kane County Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Kane County school district spent $13,397 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $15,279 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 5874 to 5800.

Geneva's spending in 2016-17 was 18 percent higher than the state average of $12,973.
